When designing a bespoke home with long-term appeal, every detail matters. Paying meticulous attention to the finer elements elevates a living space to something extraordinary, ensuring that every interaction – such as the feel of a door handle or the material underfoot – is a joy. With its range of finely crafted artisanal door hardware, Spiggy reimagines the often-overlooked touchpoints in the home, allowing architects and interior designers to bring a new level of beauty and refinement to kitchen joinery, interior doors, cabinetry and entries.
Founded in Brisbane in 2020 by designer Colin Wright, Spiggy supplies hardware that is beautiful to behold, feels wonderful to the touch and will improve with time. “‘Hardware done differently’ has been our ethos from the start,” says Colin. “We look to supply aspirational handles that go beyond the purely visual and give the user a truly kinaesthetic experience. Handles are often the first things you touch when you get out of bed in the morning or arrive home from work, so they should be perfectly formed and feel solid and comforting in the hand.”
Spiggy prides itself on sourcing inspiring designs from around the world. “We seek out pieces of an exceptional quality that are unique, original and authentically designed – most of which are created by renowned international architects and designers,” Colin explains.
A broad range of styles, from sleek and minimal to intricate and highly decorative, allows the hardware to cater to a diverse range of architectural settings. “We’re drawn to pieces that have a story to tell, whether it’s the designer, the manufacturing process or the material.”
With beautifully crafted designs supported by a captivating story, Spiggy thoughtfully considers the finer details in our homes. The Spiggy Brisbane showroom is open by appointment, with a Sydney showroom opening soon.
