Inspired by Individuality – TIDE Design’s 2019 Collection
The new range from Melbourne-based furniture designers and makers, TIDE Design, reaffirms their commitment to the creation of high-quality solid timber pieces and continues their focus on timeless design.
TIDE Design has always been inspired by simplicity, designing and manufacturing pieces in Melbourne that celebrate the beauty of timber whilst appealing to our sense of unique individuality. The 2019 collection is no different. Comprising of a dining table, bench seat, hall table, occasional/dining chair, standing lamp and a side table, the new range of solid timber pieces features all-natural finishes and fabrics, and offer the option to customise to suit a particular interior space.
In a celebration of simplicity, all six timber pieces combine subtle curves with straight lines to generate a restrained yet dynamic aesthetic. Carefully considered proportions contribute to the refined detailing that makes TIDE Design’s 2019 collection so distinctive in design and function.
The Moya dining table and bench seat were inspired by a love of Japanese architecture with distinct references to what TIDE Design considers to be the core of all living – inspiring people to come together in a sociable manner. The Lumi chair, Polly hall table and Luna side table all feature natural timbers and finishes that combine with TIDE Design’s signature aesthetic to create a well-balanced design.
The Tote standing lamp rounds out the collection through geometric shapes, understated curves and an oversized, gently tapered shade, which all combine to create a lamp sophisticated in style and timeless in design.
TIDE Design’s 2019 collection represents six original pieces designed to celebrate the individuality in all of us, whilst continuing the studio’s focus on high-quality timber design that generates an inherently timeless quality.
