Celebrating a relaxed beachside lifestyle with the sophistication and modernist form synonymous with Melbourne’s Bayside suburbs, Topaz Parkdale is the latest, highly anticipated project from Lowe Living.

An ensemble of generously appointed one, two- and three-bedroom apartments and spacious three-bedroom townhouses, the collaborative effort has seen Lowe Living combine with both Chamberlain Architects and landscape architects Jack Merlo. With a design that is sensitive to its location and displays an unparalleled attention to detail and craftsmanship throughout, Lowe Living has sought to create an architectural legacy with Topaz. A delicately articulated façade showcases timeless and low-maintenance metal cladding, contrasting brickwork and toned renders–  a textural palette that complements the locale with ease and is offset by lush planting by Jack Merlo.

The building is both low maintenance and luxurious, as the indoor spaces are flooded with light and verdant garden views.

“Topaz Parkdale is inspired by its desirable location,” explains Lowe Living Managing Director Tim Lowe. “One of the most unique aspects of Topaz Parkdale is the relationship between architecture, landscaping and surrounds. These elements have all been carefully considered to create a sense of sanctuary, synonymous with a relaxed beachside lifestyle.” With the convenience of bayside living ably demonstrated through the low-maintenance building exterior, Mr. Lowe says that Topaz Parkdale’s location is at the centre of the lifestyle it seeks to promote. “With the beauty of Port Phillip Bay only a short walk away, along with the enviable amenities of the much-loved Parkdale Village and neighbouring bayside suburbs, Topaz Parkdale provides the rare opportunity to enjoy a sea change, while not compromising on locale or quality.”

Inside the homes, generous living zones have been adorned with floor-to-ceiling windows and full-height glass doors, leaving the spaces aglow with natural light. Warm timber floors and integrated gas fireplace options provide an added sense of comfort, as lush courtyards encourage contemplation or social conversation in equal measure. Grey-toned kitchens with pendant lights above the island benches provide a central point to gather, without detracting from the verdant greens of the garden or the inclination to retreat to the luxury of the living room and fireplace. Integrated Miele or Fisher & Paykel appliances in the kitchens reinforce the culinary credentials of Topaz Parkdale and provide an additional element of customisation for homeowners.

Both the kitchen and bathroom spaces are well-appointed, with their soft grey tones allowing the gardens and living spaces to take centre stage.

The bathrooms, which adopt a similar tonal palette to the kitchen spaces, feature tiling that provides a perfect backdrop to the vanities, as they appear to float over the soft grey porcelain. Mirrored cabinets and chrome tapware round out the spaces, as the ensuites lead on to 100% wool carpets in the bedroom spaces. The seamless bleeding of luxury appointments one into another speaks to the attention to detail that Lowe Living promotes as being at the heart of the Topaz Parkdale building.

Perhaps the most luxurious element to this building is not a surface at all, but rather the access to the bayside air these open plan homes encourage. With bespoke landscaping and shade trees offering each residence private sanctuary, a sense of connection to the outdoors is at once exclusive and comforting, encapsulating the goals of Topaz Parkdale in one evocative sensation.
