Totem Road is a Sydney-based furniture company with a focus on thoughtful and timeless designs intended to be cherished beyond a single lifetime.

Since being established in 2015, Totem Road has consciously rejected seasonal trends, instead leaning into a slow furniture philosophy. “We believe in mindful consumption, which is why we are very intentional with the addition of any new product,” says the brand’s creative director and founder, Don Garvan. “We listen to our customers and find new ways to combine carefully crafted products with timeless designs, intended to last beyond seasonal trends.”

Totem Road’s latest range, New Light, is designed to elevate and complement existing products and has been created by in-house designer Francesco Feliziani. “New Light sees the introduction of travertine for the first time as well as our first Totem Road dining chairs,” says Francesco. “Inspired by the fine interaction between light and dark and the intention to create objects that can coexist in a contemporary way, the designs within New Light carefully balance softness and structure.”
Featuring the Ostara dining table, Arlo coffee table, Juno side tables and the No. 1 dining chair, the collection’s combination of thoughtful materials, organic shapes and neutral palette allows the designs to suit any room.

The new Homecoming collection, designed around the concept of connection and belonging, sees the introduction of the Leif occasional chair, Mira carver and Mira dining chairs as well as what Francesco describes as “the most comfortable sofa ever”, the Heirloom. Combining premium craftsmanship, a minimal aesthetic and maximum comfort, the Heirloom is intended to be enjoyed for generations. Like all Totem Road designs, quality is of the utmost importance, with a focus on solid timber construction. Homecoming introduces American oak as well as a natural oil finish and three colour variations – Signature, Natural Oak and Black Oak – to the company’s material offering.
