As such, Henderson & Co. has created a canvas in which the lighting pieces from XAL’s collection could sit, allowing each piece to be wholly appreciated.

Whether it be reading by the warm glow of a table lamp or streams of gleaming floodlights washing over a stadium, Est is highly conscious that the human experience is heavily influenced by the illumination of space. With atmosphere and feeling at the heart of the showroom’s design, a distinction has been made for the space to transcend the traditional display of light fixtures and showcase an immersive experience of lighting effects across multiple settings.

Dubbed the ‘XAL Light Gallery’, the expansive new showroom extension is dedicated to celebrating the best architectural lighting technologies from XAL and brings together professionals and the public in a breathtaking collaborative space. With the existing showroom housing a range of mostly decorative lighting pieces, the new gallery focuses on emerging as an all-encompassing design destination that champions the throw of light across different materials, textures and fine details.

With an inspiring interior articulated by architecture firm Henderson &Co. and exacting lighting design by Light Practice, the showroom journeys through three distinct zones – each with their own unique function and feel. XAL lighting systems have been judiciously poised across the gallery to highlight the function of illumination in achieving a range of preferred environmental outcomes.

The office and meeting area takes on a fresh and stimulating profile, with lighting instruments that reduce fatigue in the workplace to promote increased productivity. Over the lively bar area, a grid of extruded aluminium Move It ceiling lighting is mirrored by moody pigeonhole joinery, whilst in the lounge, walls are finished in a deep navy polished plaster that echoes the sky’s hue as it transforms from day to night, creating a contented environment that aids the regulation of circadian rhythm.
