The Reserve sees the combined experiences of architecture firm Rothelowman and design company Mancini Made surge to the fore with the internal reconfiguration of a home. Featuring high-performance appliances by Fisher & Paykel, the residence is adapted to the rhythm of domestic life.

Located in Williamstown, the first port settlement of Melbourne, the design of The Reserve is imbued with elements of its surrounding coastal setting. Whilst the suburb offers a sweeping view of Melbourne from across the water – the only vista of its kind – a related sense of openness and ease flows through The Reserve, presenting the home as a place of relaxation. Rothelowman adds elements of architectural surprise to the house, such as particular angles at the balustrades, to playfully interact with a modern aesthetic

Informed by a deep understanding of how appliances are habitually used, Fisher & Paykel products seek to inject choice and freedom into domestic activities, contributing to an unrestrictive home environment.

With the pre-existing architecture making for a compact site, Mancini Made employs Fisher & Paykel appliances to imbue The Reserve with both functionality and poise. The two companies share the value of efficiency, both expertly crafted to deliver genuine solutions to human need. Informed by a deep understanding of how appliances are habitually used, Fisher & Paykel products seek to inject choice and freedom into domestic activities, contributing to an unrestrictive home environment.

The Reserve benefits from many Fisher & Paykel appliances. In the kitchen, two 600mm ovens create calming visual symmetry, as well as the option to cook at different temperatures simultaneously. A self-cleaning induction cooktop and quiet range hood are useful additions whilst an integrated fridge and dishwasher speak to a sophisticated seamlessness for which Fisher & Paykel is renowned. In the laundry room, a sleek washing machine and dryer complement the home, with the steam pump dryer rated 10 stars for energy efficiency and featuring a sought-after steam function.

Mancini Made ensures that the interior design of The Reserve embodies understated luxury. The internal space is softly defined using a curve motif, visible in the island bench and bar, whilst a restrained approach to materiality sees stone and a George Fethers wooden floor exist in delicate harmony. Experimentally, Mancini Made combines light dove grey joinery with silver ash stone and a darker floor, establishing a nuanced colour palette of surprising warmth. By using azure blue inside the amenity bar in the kitchen – another unexpected element – a dynamic colour contrast is added to the entertainment space.

Combining efforts, Rothelowman and Mancini Made give rise to a modern home that coheres with its coastal setting. Fisher & Paykel plays a vital role in allowing life within The Reserve to unfold effortlessly.
