Wildflower Studio
Wildflower Studio in Melbourne’s Collingwood reflects the company’s bold, lively approach to design, mixing vibrant, crafted elements with sleek, functional finishes by Laminex.
There’s something unique about Wildflower, and you feel it as soon as you step into their bright, colourful studio space. Designed by Wildflower’s founder Cara Stizza and creative director Robyn Levin, the workplace showcases the company’s unique approach to interior design, focusing on a vibrant, pared-back aesthetic that makes bold, memorable statements.
“Some of our values at Wildflower are to be really genuine, but also to be iconic,” says Stizza. “That’s what we wanted to come through in this space.” From the workstations and the kitchen to the boardroom, phone room and finishes library, every detail and pop of colour has been curated with purpose and panache.
The pair collaborated with design consultants Made For to create a neutral base palette that leaves plenty of room for individuality. “We wanted to layer in a Wildflower personality,” says Levin. “Lots of colour, lots of texture and some crafted elements too.” This extends throughout: from the transitioning colour staircase that welcomes you to the space, to the local art pieces that give the studio a warm and dynamic vibe.
The kitchen, a stand-out feature, brings a residential warmth not typically expected in an office space. With Laminex products at the core of the design, the cabinetry is clad in Laminex Blackbutt TrueScale for a rich, textured feel. “The TrueScale technology gave us the variation in the boards we wanted, allowing us to achieve that natural, warm look,” says Stizza. The under-bench storage in Laminex Steel Blue offers a muted contrast to the cabinetry, as does the room’s high-gloss red table.
Another unexpected yet delightful touch is the use of Laminex Pale Honey inside the kitchen cupboards, which adds a subtle pop of warmth to the space. This attention to detail extends to the custom sit-to-stand workstations with Laminex Paperback desktops and Blackbutt-clad legs. “It was really important for us to demonstrate that the workplace can be functional and really beautiful at the same time,” says Levin.
The pair wanted to make sure their team had a space that allowed for creativity and inspiration. “We spend a lot of time at work, so it was important for us that our team felt they were coming into a beautiful space that they could be creative, productive and really proud of,” says Levin.
Ultimately, Wildflower Studio is a joyful space that inspires. Laminex products, with their versatility and stunning finishes, play a key role in bringing this vision to life, making the studio a fantastic example of bold design in a professional setting.
