Cultivated Design – Current Favourites from JRF

Words by Shevon De Alwis

James Richardson Furniture (JRF) considerably captures a balance between comfort, aesthetic and functionality. Rachel Luchetti and Stuart Krelle, Co-Directors of Luchetti Krelle, curate their current favourites from JRF’s selections.

Luchetti Krelle is an award-winning architecture and interior design practice based in Sydney. With an incredibly unique approach to design, Luchetti Krelle delivers on total concept – from helping clients select the perfect location, right through to interior design and customised furniture. This process allows the team to capture a character and tone that perfectly aligns with each individual brief. JRF shares Luchetti Krelle’s passion for design; together, they have cultivated a selection of pieces that speak to a broader and considered design language.

The Lil Chair – a collaboration between JRF and Russel George – is playful, customisable and functional. It is the perfect representation of a great partnership, showcasing what can happen when creative minds come together. Originally made to match the interiors for the LUCAS Group’s à la carte destination Society, the chair can be used in any space, living a life beyond its original intent.

The TON Armchair 811, designed by Josef Hoffmann in 1930, captures both Hoffmann’s interest in Art Nouveau and modest silhouettes. Originally a handshake deal in 1956, JRF remains one of TON’s longest standing clients. Timeless and adaptable, the variety of soft and hard finishes allow the chair to suit a range of interior colour palettes, without compromising its presence.

An established manufacturer in Venezia, Italy, Miniforms represents expert craftsmanship. The Briscola Table and Sergia Armchair are well-considered, featuring resolved details made possible by insights from generations of furniture makers. The Soda and Pezzo Coffee Tables are sculptural forms that command a playful sense of materiality alongside innovative technology.

Manufacturing in San Giovanni al Natisone, Italy, CIZETA’s products emulate the region’s long-standing tradition of wood making. CIZETA’s Frisbee chair and Alpha Armchair combine practicality with sophistication, seeing the range cater for a variety of design applications.

With a selection of dynamic and creatively crafted pieces, JRF continues to push boundaries in the products they supply. Influenced by contemporary and authentic design, these made to last pieces are only a snapshot of JRF’s expansive offerings.
