Curves are wholly embraced alongside striking geometric forms, travertine and Carrara marble are abundant and warm natural ash and teak have a strong presence. There is colour too; rich merlot and washed terracotta tones permeate the collections and bring welcome depth. Contrasting design elements sit confidently beside each other, resulting in a diverse collection of contemporary Australian design. “While current lifestyle factors have us seeking comfort and tranquility, we look to embolden our spaces with adventurous colours and statement silhouettes that stir a sense of playfulness and joy in the home,” says GlobeWest Head of Creative Keti Lytras.

The indoor collections are vast. Sidney encompasses three sofa designs varying in aesthetics, yet with comfort and style consistently front of mind. The Sidney Classic presents a contemporary slant on a familiar form finished with elegant piping, while the Sidney Fold features a minimal, contemporary frame with folded arms. In contrast, the Sidney Slouch encourages moments of uninhibited relaxation with generous proportions and appealing quilted cushioning. The three Atlas occasional tables bring a sophisticated edge and feature marble with neutral and chocolate toned veins, etched linear patterns and fine double pipe details. Similarly, the Elsie dining, coffee and side tables channel refined minimalism with a touch of warmth. The tri-base in warm natural ash is finished with either a Carrara marble or travertine top for a sleek aesthetic.

Collections 2022 includes 10 new indoor collections and three new outdoor collections. Each new piece is imbued with a sense of timelessness.

Elegant storage solutions are abundant. Hunter includes a buffet and entertainment unit in natural or black teak with a striking slatted façade and statement sculptural legs. With subtle rounded edges, this collection offers a welcome softness. Also embracing curves but with more exaggerated forms, the Hills buffet, bedside and entertainment unit feature undulating façades in a rich merlot finish, natural ash or black oak. They are veritable statement pieces for any home.

Curves continue with the architecturally-inspired Oberon collection. Tri-base dining and coffee tables in oak or ash veneer and generous storage pieces with rounded edges fill out this collection driven by volume. In contrast, the Charleston buffet, console and bedside channel a more traditional aesthetic through a contemporary lens. The classic look is characterised by beaded detailing, fluted panelling and tapered legs while the option for matte black oak or white grain ash ensure design versatility.

A largely neutral palette and subdued tones result in a soft and welcoming collection however merlot and sage green hues bring extra depth and visual interest to an already rich array of pieces.

Rounding out the indoor collections are Jupiter and Tennyson, both wonderfully warm and inviting. Jupiter – available as a buffet, entertainment unit or bedside in solid natural teak or black mango wood – showcases GlobeWest’s focus on artisanship with intricately angled shadow line handles and box joint case construction. Meanwhile, Tennyson takes inspiration from the Australian coastline with soft woven rattan panelling framed by solid timber in a simple palette of natural or black. Available as a buffet, entertainment unit, bedside and bedhead, Tennyson can be styled effortlessly throughout the home.

New homewares collection Lorne is the perfect complement to the indoor collections. It includes decorative lamps and vases defined by expressive silhouettes, neutral hues and sculptural forms. These smaller objects and vessels inject extra depth and character into the indoor offering, creating a cohesive collection.

While the identity of each individual collection varies, GlobeWest’s forward-looking and refined aesthetic prevails.

Acknowledging many Australian’s affinity for the outdoors and our continued – if not, increasing – desire for connection to landscape, GlobeWest’s new Outdoor Collection is a pleasing interpretation of our current frame of mind. “As we seek to break away from the everyday whilst holidaying at home, our outdoor spaces need to be more than an extension of our indoor space,” Keti explains. “With comfort at the forefront, this luxurious collection makes resort style living possible, connecting to nature in shape, colour and texture.”

The Outdoor Collections – Banksia, Cabana and Lucy – encompass a soft palette, natural textures and earthy tones of clay and moss. “Cocooning forms, half-moon silhouettes and rounded elements invite mindful moments in the sun, whilst tones and textures are shaped by the Australian landscape,” Keti says. Each piece has been expertly designed and executed with precedence placed on the durability required to withstand the harsh Australian elements.

The three new Outdoor Collections have been designed with the same values and aesthetics as the Indoor Collection. The Cabana pieces effortlessly encourage resort-style relaxation.

The Banksia dining table is a standout piece; crafted from solid teak with tubular ribbed dowel legs, it promises to bring a strong contemporary identity to outdoor dining. Lucy offers a comforting nostalgia for the classic Australian backyard experience – the collection of tables, benches and sofas represents easy days spent lounging by the pool and indulging with friends over lunch. Meanwhile, Cabana conjures romantic images of modernist inspired resort-style relaxation. The effect is undoubtedly chic yet tranquil.

GlobeWest’s seamless approach to design and execution sees a plentiful collection of furniture and homewares emerge. Offering a wide-ranging yet refined aesthetic, Collections 2022 encourages us to seek out our very own sanctuaries at home and take pleasure in the moments we create.
