Originally built in the 1960s, the existing home’s familial connection and nostalgia is retained in the reshaping of the residence for its next chapter. Whilst the building’s façade remains, the interior and landscape are reworked to carefully overlay a matched formality and rigour, framing the home and anchoring it in place. Drawing from the original inspiration of Italian glamour, the home becomes layered with eclectic gestures whilst a clean and considered contemporary liveability forms the foundations of everyday life. The connection between inside and outside is crucial to the how the home functions, allowing for boundaryless thresholds between the two realms. Continuous and consistent flooring allows for free movement across the site, marrying the outdoor spaces to the interior dwelling.
