From morning coffees on the patio to poolside cocktails by sunset, there is every reason to be outdoors in these summer months. With artfully crafted loungers and outdoor dining suites like those in Tim Webber’s Trace range, it is possible to elevate the al fresco experience and make the most of the seemingly endless balmy days and nights in comfort and style.

A well-designed outdoor table is an investment in leisure time. Created in response to a need for coherence between interior and exterior spaces, Tim Webber’s new Trace Outdoor Table echoes the studio’s original Trace Table, with its cantilevered and sculpturally angular tabletop inspired by the architecture of Italian designer Giuseppe Pettazzi. With a scale that can accommodate even the largest dinner party with ease, this highly finished and skilfully constructed piece is created to last through rain and sun exposure, despite having a comparable sense of refinement to interior furniture.

Similarly, the Trace Sun Lounger is designed with leisure in mind. Its deceptively simple form is created using hardwood boards, belying quintessentially detailed joins and smoothly finished surfaces. Reclinable at different angles and with supportive squabs that come in a range of colours and fabrics to suit any architecture, this is a piece to relish when the sun is shining, complete with a book or a cool drink.

The mortise and tenon joint details seen in the Trace range exemplify the quality of the manufacturing process, whilst the versatile Iroko hardwood withstands the harsh New Zealand and Australian climates. The success of both pieces is also testament to Tim Webber’s long held relationships with skilled New Zealand craftspeople, who work together to execute his designs to the highest possible level of finish.

With the durability to withstand the summer sun and winter rain of Australia and New Zealand’s equally harsh climates, Tim Webber’s outdoor furniture nevertheless portrays a sense of refinement and elegance.

The Trace Outdoor range joins the well established and highly sought after ranks of Tim Webber’s existing outdoor pieces, such as the tubular, powder-coated steel Kin range, with its bolstered cushions and beautiful cross junction arms. The new pieces can also pair easily with the Arc range, which celebrates sleekness with clean lines and easy-use, long-lasting benches and tables. Celebrating the trans-Tasman love for the outdoors and shared penchant for squeezing the absolute most from the summer months, these pieces by Tim Webber keep the good times rolling on through all seasons, retaining the essence of summer for years to come.
