A Bold Face – Visio by Masiero
The bold new Visio lighting range by Masiero has been designed as an homage to the form and expressiveness of the human face.
Italian lighting is renowned for its distinct air of sophistication and glamour. In 2023, lighting design trends have shifted from a focus on sculptural form to one that harmonises opulence with an enhanced architectural functionality. A glowing example of this transition is Masiero’s new Visio collection, in which the architectural merges with the glamorous.
Making its debut at the Euroluce 2023 Lighting Fair in Milan – where a range of new silhouettes and innovations from leading Italian lighting manufacturers was unveiled – Visio stood out as a bold new collection that flawlessly marries aestheticism and practicality.
Hinting at a surrealist style, Visio has been designed as an homage to the iconographic apparatus, form and expressiveness of the human face. With playful imagination and a hint of mysticism, layers of meaning are discovered in Visio’s multiple configurations; it may be used to generate a face in its entirety or to provide compositions of mouths, noses, ears and eyes.
The attention to detail in each piece enables a unique experience in which the face is etched through a dance of illumination and shadow.
The attention to detail and highly skilled craftsmanship of each piece enables a unique experience in which the face is etched through a dance of illumination and shadow, shaping the environment in which it sits. Consisting of painted metal structures in polished dark chocolate tones, with an opal white Murano triplex glass diffuser and LED lighting, Visio can function as a lamp or suspension or wall light.
This new collection is true to the DNA of Masiero, a company that has been developing and producing innovative decorative lighting pieces for decades. The brand’s passion and ability to produce unique pieces culminates in Visio with flair and intrigue. Visio will be available in Australia for the first time this year, showcased in the Melbourne and Sydney showrooms of luxury lighting retailer Mondoluce.
