What advice would you give to young people looking to buy?
Get into the market as early as possible. Once you’re in, you’re in, and it’s easier to move up the ladder. Don’t be too specific or particular when buying for the first time – just get in the market as soon as possible.

What’s your number one tip for someone selling their property?
Make sure it’s presented properly – you want to create the perception that the buyer can live in the home without having to do any work for the next five years. This will drive competition and generate a better outcome.

What is the favourite property you’ve sold and why?
14 Bunya Parade, South Coogee. We sold it four years ago for $16.85M which, at the time, doubled the suburb record. Known as the Coogee Castle or Crypto Castle, the uniqueness of the architecture and the way the block runs parallel to the ocean is incredible.

What do you think buyers are looking for in a new apartment developments?
We’re seeing a huge demand for wellness facilities. The shift in the last three to five years in that space has been massive. Also, the ability to have a work-from-home space/office area is still very appealing to buyers, particularly in areas closer to the city.

What Sydney suburbs do you think will experience the biggest growth over the next 12 months?
We are seeing huge growth in and around Randwick. The shift of buyers coming from the inner city and Bellevue Hill due to affordability has been huge in the past two years. Also, we’re seeing a lot of buyers push from Bondi/Bronte down in to Coogee/South Coogee, again due to price.
