About Jordan Galpin

What advice would you give to young people looking to buy?
Property should be viewed as a long-term play. Buy the best quality property you can afford. Don’t overthink it. Do you research and your due diligence, of course, but time in the market over timing the market.

What’s your number-one tip for someone selling their property?
Speak to your local agents early. Find out what preparation needs to be done, what buyers are looking for, what the current market trends are, and get a realistic idea of price. Most importantly, figure out which agent has the best strategy to get you the outcome you’re after.

Do you think luxury features are important to include in homes and new builds?
Absolutely, particularly in the higher price point properties. We’ve seen a real emphasis on health and wellness, saunas, home gyms etc.

What do you think buyers are looking for in new properties?
It depends on who the buyer is – whether they’re young, upwardly mobile families or downsizers. The beautiful thing with residential real estate is it’s so subjective.

What is the favourite property you’ve sold and why?
It has to be 18 Edgecliffe Esplanade, Seaforth. A beautiful, 100-plus-year-old heritage home with a tennis court and amazing views. It’s still a suburb record for a non-waterfront property.

What Northern Beaches suburbs do you think will experience the biggest growth over the next 12 months?
We’re seeing really strong annual growth from Beacon Hill and Allambie up to the Forest region.
